Today I am introducing Hair and Makeup By Jill, to facebook. Â My goal is to share beauty tips, beginning with outer beauty, which soaks in to enhance our inner beauty.
This week’s focus has been to be gentle and kind to yourself. Â To get caught up, read the first two posts on www.makeupandhairbyjill.com
Today’s beauty tip:
Treat your hair as if it were a delicate, fine linen. Â Hair is the most fragile when it is wet. Â After using a professional shampoo and conditioner, wrap a towel gently around your hair using little tension. Â No tight towel or towel rubbing, only blotting and gentle wrapping the towel, so as not to break the hair. Â Spray in a detangler or leave in conditioner. Â If you are using a serum or shine product, apply it next. Â Use a wide tooth comb, denman or paddle brush, to comb through your wet hair, gently without pulling. Â Start at the bottom, and work your way up to detangle the hair. Â Apply styling cream, gel, mousse, or anti-frizz products and comb through again.
It is best to allow the hair to dry partially, before blow-drying. Â Using high heat and air on dripping wet hair can be damaging. Â Using lower speed and heat is best on wet hair. Â More on blow-drying and styling hair to come.
Today, try to do something fun for yourself! Â What do you enjoy? Â Watch a funny show or movie that makes you laugh, work on a craft, call a friend for coffee, visit a child or play with a pet.
What do you like to do for fun?
Hugs!
Jill
