This week I would like to focus on being kind to ourselves. Â We are so task driven as a society. Â I don’t know about you, but at the end of the day, if I have a list of accomplishments, I tend to feel more valuable. Â On a day where I chose to rest or relax, my self-worth takes a bit of a nose dive. Â So silly! Â I love that saying, that “we are human beings, not human doings”. Â Lets try to remember that we are so valuable, just to be, just to exist.
So, here’s our beauty homework:
When you wash your hair, give yourself a lovely scalp massage. This will create healthier, shinier hair. Â It will alleviate tension in your scalp. Â It will help you to be gentle and tender with yourself.
After cleansing, apply a lovely facial moisturizer to your face, with a gentle, circular motion. Look at yourself in the mirror, and smile, and say your name and “I love you.”
Apply a lotion to your body with love and acceptance of all the curves and bumps that make you, you! I once looked at myself in the mirror, and saw my grandmother’s, white, fleshy tummy! Â Well, I loved my Grandma, and after that realization, I never hated my stomach again. Â If you hate a body part, give it some attention, rub it, pat it, and accept it. Â Only acceptance promotes change, never criticism.
Think of these scriptures, toward how you treat yourself:
Col. 3:12 , Â 12Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Â Â Â Â (Toward Yourself!)
Gal. 5:22-23, 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control.      (Toward Yourself!)
What types of things are you doing that is gentle and kind toward yourself?

I am trying to go to bed earlier as a way to be kind to myself. Also, I am reminding myself that God is in the rain too, so that even when it is raining, I am not cranky.
